Walking in Dumfries & Galloway
About 1.5 miles away from Tarras bed and breakfast is Eskrigg Nature Reserve and Woodland Walks. The site is a former curling pond, constructed around 1850 by Castlemilk estate workers. You can pick up an information leaflet covering the reserve's history, natural history and walking routes from Lockerbie Library. Currently under development is the 55 mile Annandale Way which will go from Devil's Beef Tub, Moffat following the valley of the River Annan through to Barnkirk Point, Annan.
